What should I expect?
Even though the race is either 12 or 24 hours long it doesn't mean that every competitor must ride for the whole time. Most riders will compete as part of a relay team of up to 6 people, with one active rider at a time. When not riding, the rest of the team relaxes in the event HQ area, recuperating in time for another lap.
Teams or individuals compete to complete as many laps as possible in a 12/24 hour time frame. Our race categories have been designed to accommodate all levels of fitness, so whether you are a beginner or an expert the event will suit you.
A selection of prizes will be on offer. These include prizes for category wins and also for the fastest lap time, there will also be spot prizes handed out during and at the close of the event.
How hard will it be?
The race is achievable for anyone with a decent level of fitness, reasonable mountain biking skills, the ability to look after themselves and to plan properly for their requirements in terms of food, drink and camping..
Be realistic about your abilities and plan properly so you can enjoy the event.
What facilities are available for camping?
The camping and social atmosphere of the event HQ area are as much a part of the race as the riding.
A large flat area, close to the transition zone has been set aside for competitors camping, there will be clean fresh water available as well as toilets and a charge station for bike lights. Food, caffeine, bike shops and competitor entertainment facilities are also located on-site.
Car parking will be tight, so obey all directions.
Please consider other campers around you, particularly after midnight. It is requested that you leave the loud music (of whatever variety) and the swearing at home.
Please respect the fact that this is farmland and leave your dog at home. There is no exception.
The organisers would like to say a special thankyou to Bernard and Maria Wooley for the use of their land.
Without their help and generosity this event would not be possible.
